Field Guide is a reference for traditional Chinese medicine botanicals and classical formulas. Using the site at fieldguide.onlinemeans you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

We keep this readable on purpose. These terms reflect what Field Guide actually does today: educational content, optional accounts, saved stacks, and links to third-party products.

Not medical advice

Field Guide is for learning and general reference only. Nothing on the Service is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a recommendation to start, stop, or change any supplement, botanical, formula, or medication.

• Using Field Guide does not create a practitioner-patient or doctor-patient relationship with us or anyone else.
• Botanical and formula descriptions are educational summaries of classical and contemporary TCM sources. They are not a personalized assessment of your health.

Use of the Service

You may use Field Guide for personal, non-commercial learning. You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content without written permission.
• Misrepresent Field Guide content as professional medical advice when sharing it with others.
• Disrupt the Service, bypass security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

Affiliate disclosure

Some pages on Field Guide link to third-party retailers where you can buy ready-made products. On formula pages, that usually means patent teapills in the “How to take it” section. When you purchase through one of those links, we may earn a small commission that helps keep Field Guide free. That does not change the price you pay.

We say so here and on any page where an affiliate link is active. You will see a short notice near the link itself.

• We link only to products we can name by brand, usually Plum Flower or Tongrentang. We do not link to unnamed or private-label listings.
• Our recommendations reflect editorial judgment about what matches a classical formula, not which affiliate program pays the most.

We are not responsible for third-party sites, products, shipping, returns, or customer service. Any purchase is between you and the retailer. Brand names on Field Guide are for identification only.

Accounts

You can browse Field Guide without an account. If you sign in, you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms or misused the Service.

Content accuracy

We work to keep botanical and formula information accurate and aligned with reputable TCM references. Editorial content can still contain errors, become outdated, or differ from what a practitioner would recommend for your specific pattern.

The Service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Intellectual property

Field Guide's original editorial presentation, design, and structure are owned by Field Guide and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, republish, or sell our site content without permission.

Botanical and formula descriptions reflect our editorial interpretation of classical TCM sources and references. Traditional knowledge itself is not proprietary to Field Guide.

Botanical photos on the site are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and similar open repositories, each under its own license.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Field Guide and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

We are not liable for health outcomes, adverse reactions, or decisions you make based on information on the site or on products you obtain through outbound links. Your use of botanicals and formulas is at your own risk.
